Featured Animals with Special Adoption Fees
Featured Cats: Everyone deserves a loving home. These beautiful felines hope to find a family of their own and the staff at the Toledo Area Humane Society want to make their dreams a reality. You can be part of the solution by adopting one of these cuddly cuties at a special adoption rate. You can give any of these cats a home for only $50.00. That's 1/2 off of our normal adoption fee.
All of our featured cats are spayed or neutered, up to date on their vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for external and internal parasites and microchipped. Keep your eyes open for these special cats:

Hi, I'm Roxie. I am a 3 yr old DSH cat. I am a little afraid of the other cats in my room but I think I will adjust soon. If you are a patient person and give me time to adjust to my new home you will not be sorry. I might even be able to live in a house that already has a cat but I should meet them first. I would like to lie on the couch next to you and relax while we take in a movie on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Give me a chance to be that special friend that you can talk to about anything. If the roles were reversed and I could pick out my new family I would pick out.........anyone who loves me. I am so easy to make happy. Sammy is a 1 year old domestic short haired cat. Sammy is a sweet boy who can be a little shy when in a new environment. He has the potential to be a very large cat. His body is much longer than your average cat. Sammy loves to sleep in boxes where he can keep an eye on things without drawing attention to himself. I'm Narissa. I am about 4 years old and I was brought to the shelter because my owner couldn't afford my best friend and I. I like to cuddle and play with toys and I also like to sleep the day away. I would prefer to not live with dogs but other cats are fine. I like to stretch and scratch things so you will want to talk to the behaviorists about things to do to help me not do that. And please talk to the staff about alternatives to de-clawing. Because I am not a very active cat and I would like to rest most of the time I would like a home without children or a home with children who understands to let me rest.

My name is Roman. I am about a year old and I was surrendered here with my best friend because my owner couldn't afford to take care of us. I like to cuddle and play with toys. I don't like dogs and I am active. I can live happily in a home with kids, someone home all day, an active family, or and elderly family. That should ensure me that I find the perfect home. My name is Zoe. I am about a year old. I was brought in because i was injured. I actually had a broken leg. OUCH! The vet staff took great care of me an I was able to hang out in the office until I was all better. I was getting along with the other cat in the office and in my new room. I am a talker so don't be surprised if you walk into the kitchen and I tell you to feed me.

My name is Charles. I am about a year old and I was brought in through the cruelty department. I was a stray cat and I was sick. The person feeding me couldn't afford to take me to the vet so that's why I came here. The wonderful vet staff made me all better and now I am so happy. I am a very loving cat. I'm so grateful that I was found and brought into the shelter because if I wasn't then I would have had tons and tons of babies. And there are plenty of those around as it is. My name is Coco. I am about 2 years old and I was brought into the shelter because my owner had too many of us to take care of. I am fairly independent and I like to sleep. If there is a cubby hole or box I will probably be in it. I like to be petted as long as I am not being held. I am not a fan of being held which happens a lot when there is to many cats in a house. Not everyone gets held so we don't get use to it. But with that being said I would make a great addition to someone's family that would like a cat that is there whenever they want someone to talk to ( I'm a great listener) or to just sit next to. After I cam in I went into a foster home with my babies until they were able to go up for adoption. They are all adopted and it's just me left now. I like to be petted and I am very playful. If I am highly aroused I may play rough or get irritated quickly with being petted but I will calm down after a little while. Because my kittens were not old enough to go up for adoption yet we went into a wonderful foster home. After my young ones were old enough we were all brought back to the shelter. Hi. My name is Mittens. I am about 2 years old and I was surrendered to the shelter because my owner had to many cats and couldn't keep me or my babies. After I was surrendered to the shelter I was sent into a foster home with my babies until they were able to go up for adoption. I am a couch potato. I like to be petted and held and I like to lay on laps. I am friendly to visitors in the house but not that friendly with other cats. I would much rather be the only cat in the house. In my foster home I had a cardboard scratching post and I loved it. I was a little afraid of the ceiling fan but I can get over that.

My name is Girl. I was returned to the shelter with my brother Simon because our owners were losing their house. I am 9 years old and have lived with Simon and my owners since i was a kitten. I can go to a home with dogs but I am a little scared at first but then I will want to cuddle with them. My new owner will want to make sure they give me something to scratch on because that is a natural cat behavior and declawing is not an option (thank goodness) because I am too old.

I am not a fan of other cats but I can live with them as long as I have my own litter box, food and water dishes, and area that I can get away from them. My name is Sheldon. I am about 8 years old and I was transferred from the dog warden so the staff doesn't know much about me. I am not really really active but enough that I would need a couple walks a week or time out in the yard with my person sniffing out fun things they have hidden in the yard. I am very excitable around pocket pets and cats so I shouldn't go to a home with them. I am good with other dogs but I should still meet the resident dog before the adoption. One of my favorite things to do is play with the water coming out of the hose.
